Your role as a Counselling Member is to mentor your CA students. You’re responsible for ensuring that they’re exposed to sufficient, high-quality and relevant practical experience so they can develop both as a CA and as a potential leader for your business. By meeting with them at least semi-annually, you’re able to ensure they’re working towards developing their Depth and Breadth competencies.

The Line Manager is responsible for supervising the student on assignments and liaising with the Counselling Member to discuss the CA student’s performance, ensure assigned duties are consistent with the competency matrix and inform the Counselling Member if he/she is unable to provide applicable work experience.
