line managers

While employed at the CA Training Office, the CA student will have frequent interactions with the Line Manager, who is responsible for supervising the student on assignment and liaising with the Counselling Member to ensure assigned duties are consistent with the competency matrix. While a Line Manager may not be a CA, he or she is endorsed by the CA Training Office as being technically competent in areas that the student will be working. The CA student will always be under the overall supervision of a CA.

The Line Manager typically evaluates the performance of the CA student and makes recommendations for improvement. During rotation, the Line Manager will also discuss the CA student’s performance with the Counselling Member.

A new e-module is available on this website, providing you, your CA students, and your Counselling Members with an overview of our competency-based program.  Its examples show how CA students can reach the proficiency levels expected of entry-level CAs.

Chartered Professional Accountants/ Comptables professionnels agréés

Welcome to CPA Canada!

CPA Canada is the national organization established to support unification of the Canadian accounting profession under the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. CPA Canada provides services to all CPA, CA, CMA and CGA accounting bodies that have unified or are committed to unification.

Our integrated CPA Canada website is currently in development and will launch in fall 2014. Until that time, all our existing resources, services and information are available through the CICA, CMA Canada and CGA-Canada legacy websites, or through newly developed microsites designed to provide specific CPA content.
